whats a powerpoint party?
- didn’t want a bday present but memories
- wanted something more intentional than drinks or dinner
- saw the idea on tiktok and thought it was hilarious
- everyone prepares a short presentation on whatever they want. hobby, interest etc
why did i have so much fun?
- i loved seeing my friends talk about their interests and passions
- everyone was 100% engaged.
- more to discover here.
- it really brought out everyones’ personalities in such a positive and supportive light
what surprised me?
- the range of presentations given was really broad. in topics and in style.
- there were quizzes, informative presentatoins, interactive style, niche interests, storyline
- the amount of effort people put into their presentaitons
what did i make?
- script and slides on medieval life trajectories of my friends
- made many intertwining stories of my friends as medieval archetypes and linked them to real historical events.
how was the process?
- 80-20 lol. 80% script and stories, 20% presentations.
- the majority of the work is always behind the curtain if you want something to be good! -made medieval archetypes and linked them to my friends. then made the stories accordingly. beats first, then fleshed out. linked to real historical events
- enjoyed writing and drawing strings between interests and knowledge.
- trying to think of punchlines and what people will find funny
- low-fidelity slides made making it very low-pressure and satisfying
- it felt really good to make something with my knowledge of history.
